Financial Benefits

82b3f1_154f19f0db4a41d3ae20bdb4ddc62cd3.jpgMany who live and work in the Faribault area understand that progressive communities are communities that will continue serving their citizens' needs far into the future. Vital social and recreational amenities like the Senior Center expansion will improve the quality of life for those who live here and those who will follow.

Helping Residents - This facility will serve countless numbers of citizens for generations due to the fact the City of Faribault programs and services will also be offered here. Offering assistance in financial matters is one of the most important of the unspoken senior center benefits. The Senior Center generally offer services from 8 in the morning to 4 in the afternoon.

Helping the Economy - The store has volunteers who help with daily tasks and customers. This provides an opportunity for seniors to interact with the public and stay active. In addition, the location helps in the vitalization of downtown and provides an additional retail space that is kept updated and active. We try to participate in as many downtown activities as the budget allows to support fellow downtown businesses and help generate traffic to locally owned merchants.

To maintain operations, the Faribault Senior Center receives funding from a variety of sources. This includes support from local government, special fundraising events, bequests, membership dues, in-kind donations, and volunteer hours.
We are proud to say that 70% of our annual budget is met without outside assistance, with our largest funding source continuing to be our secondhand clothing store, Fashions on Central, supporting our budget by about 1/3. - Mona Kaiser, Director Faribault Senior Center
