AARP Driver Safety Program
FASC hosts classes for drivers 55 years and older. When completed, you may be entitled to a discount on your car insurance. The first class is for 8 hours (split up over 2 sessions) and every 3 years thereafter you can take a 4 hour refresher course. Class size is limited and there is a fee. The fee must be paid at the time of registration. Included in this cost are AARP materials and host fee. Open to the entire community.
Blood Pressure Check
FASC offers free blood pressure checks every Wednesday at noon. St. Lucas Healthcare Community, Brookdale Senior Living, Keystone, Faribault Care Center, Milestone Senior Living, Faribault Senior Living and Pleasant Manor provide the staff. No appointment necessary. Open to the entire community.
This group meets each month to discuss the monthly book of choice. Members only.
The Senior Center offers a place for its members to join in a card game. No pre-registration. Members only activity. The weekly schedule:

- Tues.– Player’s Choice
- Thur.– Pfeiffer

Checkbook Balancing Service
If you need assistance with balancing your personal checkbook, the Senior Center has a volunteer available to help.
Coloring isn't just for kids! In fact, Adult Coloring is said to be able to lift the mood, reduce anxiety, and relieve stress. Health benefits also include exercising fine motor skills and training the brain to focus.
If you are looking for a simple and fun way to have more color and creativity in your life, this is the group for you. Come join us to relax and have fun. No art experience necessary!
Bring your own coloring book or coloring pages, colored pencils, markers, or crayons. We’ll have a few supplies on hand including some detailed coloring pages.
Family Caregiver Support Group
Are you helping an elder with daily living activities? Then you are a caregiver. Join us on the 4th Tuesday of the month from 6:30—8:00 p.m. at Milestone Senior Living ~ 2500 14th St. NE for conversation with other caregivers. Open to all; no charge.
Sign up for foot care. Open to the public, no membership required. Make an appointment by calling the Senior Center at 332-7357.
Health Care Directives Assistance
This document describes your health care wishes. A volunteer will assist you in writing your health care directive. This free service is available upon request. Call the Senior Center and we can assist you in making a personal, confidential appointment that is convenient for you.
Health Insurance Counseling
Meet with a trained volunteer for help with your benefits check up, plus any health insurance and Medicare questions. Open to the public.
Information and Referral Service
This valuable service provides assistance to anyone who has a question or concern about the well-being of an older adult. The Senior Center maintains networking with senior care agencies and organizations in this area, so if you have any senior-related questions or concerns, don't hesitate to stop by the Senior Center or call at 332-7357.

Life Writing Group
Come and learn a simple technique for recording your family stories. Join us for lively discussion, fun writing exercises, and the sharing of stories. Members only.
Mah jongg - is a game of strategy that originated in China. It uses small rectangular tiles stamped with symbols and characters. The object of the game is to be the first to assemble combinations of these tiles into specific patterns that make up a hand. These combinations are assembled by picking and discarding tiles. Once you learn the fundamentals of the game, you will understand why people love it.
If you have a Mah jongg set, please bring it with you. Mah jongg will continue every Monday at 1:00 p.m. No fee; FASC members only.

Meditation means turning your attention away from distracting thoughts and focusing on the present moment in order to cultivate a sense of calm and balance. Anyone can practice meditation to find a sense of calm and balance that has benefits of emotional and physical well-being.
We will follow the meditation practices of Anhei Morningsong with additional resources from noted authors and practitioners.

This group is for Senior Center members who are interested in trying different restaurants in Faribault and the surrounding area.
Senior Friendship Volunteer Program
Senior Friendship Volunteers are persons 55 years of age and older who assist seniors by doing the types of things that friends do for friends, such as visiting, sharing hobbies, or assisting with errands.
The host agency is RSVP; volunteers receive ongoing training and mileage reimbursement. If you want to volunteer or need a volunteer, contact Michael Maas at 507-450-1518.
Healthy Living for Your Brain and Body
Join us to learn about research in the areas of diet and nutrition, exercise, cognitive activity and social engagement, and use hands-on tools to help you incorporate these recommendations into a plan to keep your mind and body healthy as you age.
Back Care Basics
This course will discuss the importance of back care, ways to protect the back while at work and at home, and methods for maintaining a healthy back through smart daily habits.
Classes in this series are sponsored by Rice County Public Health in partnership with the Faribault Senior Center. Attendance certificates provided.
Yoga, Chakras, and Essential Oils
Yoga, like essential oils, has been utilized for thousands of years to help heal, cleanse, and bring balance to the mind, body and spirit. In this class we will be blending two ancient arts, with beginner yoga poses (chair based) and essential oils for the 7 major chakras (centers in our body through which energy flows). There will be a general explanation of how the oil works with our brain and body.

Faribault Water Reclamation Facility Tour
The Public Works Department carries out the operation and maintenance of the city's wastewater collection and treatment system. The facility operates a state-certified analytical laboratory and also coordinates industrial monitoring and pretreatment programs.
Faribault Public Works
Completed in September 2007, the Public Works building is over 84,000 square feet in size and uses an abundance of natural light. The Public Works department provides for operation and maintenance of Faribault's infastructure. Our tour will include a look at the various equipment used across the city.
